The event, held on 3 September, is recognised as an Associated Event of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.
The CIPD in Ireland and Version 1 hosted more than 40 senior HR leaders from some of Ireland's largest employers, across the public and private sectors, at an interactive workshop in Dublin on Thursday 3 September. The event, Building Human Capability in the Age of AI, is recognised as an Associated Event of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.

Neil Carberry, who takes up the role of CIPD Chief Executive later this month, and Caroline Stockmann, the CIPD's interim Chief Executive, took part in the day's session.
Neil joined the day as incoming Chief Executive of the CIPD. In this short video, he talks about how AI is reshaping organisations. He also explains why people professionals are vital to bringing the technology into businesses well.
Their role, he says, is to make sure AI helps build successful, long-term organisations.
He also thanks members of the CIPD in Ireland community and our team in Dublin. He says he's looking forward to supporting Alison and the team to make a difference across the island.
"We're incredibly proud that the CIPD has been recognised as an accredited body for the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This is a significant milestone, and we're honoured to contribute to this important national moment."
Version 1 hosted the symposium at its co-creation studio in Dublin, giving attendees hands-on access to the technology behind the day's discussions. Delegates had the chance to experiment directly with AI avatars on site, something many said brought the day's themes to life. We're grateful to the team at Version 1 for hosting and for sharing their expertise throughout the day.
Yvonne White, Assistant Secretary General at the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, was among those who attended, and features in a video interview with Alison Hodgson, CIPD Country Director for Ireland, filmed on the day.
We'll share more from the day, including the session themes on AI governance and workforce capability, in a follow-up piece in the coming weeks.
