Learn, collaborate and network with CIPD members and people professionals in Devon and Cornwall
Welcome to the CIPD Devon and Cornwall branch. We are delighted to have you join our vibrant community. Our branch’s mission is to promote and support the CIPD’s mission of Championing Better Work and Working Lives. We aim to help our colleagues across Devon and Cornwall network, connect with like-minded professionals, and stay up-to-date with evolving people management issues as part of their continuing professional development.
With over 2,500 members, including a thriving student community, Devon and Cornwall is one of the most geographically challenging and rural branches in the CIPD network. Our challenge is to connect with members from all corners of our region.
Drawing from the lessons learned during the pandemic, we are committed to making opportunities more accessible and relevant. We will host virtual events, networking sessions, and select face-to-face events to ensure that everyone can participate.
We look forward to welcoming you into our branch network.

Our members rate their access to a local branch in their top three membership benefits. Come along to our branch events to discover other CIPD benefits. Explore the issues and trends impacting our profession. Network, learn and share ideas with people professionals in our area.
We are part of the South West Region of branches and collaborate with our neighbouring branches to share ideas, feedback and to run larger regional online events.
Our branch committee is made up of people professionals, who are CIPD members. We all volunteer our spare time, skills, talent, and experience in support of the CIPD’s purpose and to provide a local presence.
We moved away from sub-regions to enable us to provide a more holistic approach to our membership area. Our committee members take on specialist roles, working together to support the aims of our branch.
Committee vacancies will be promoted through our branch newsletter as they arise. We hold recruitment events as a South West Region to promote vacancies and to provide members with insight into volunteering.
With workshops, round tables, panel discussions and expert speakers, our thought-provoking events cover everything our community needs. Network, learn and stay up to date.
