Learn, collaborate and network with CIPD members and people professionals in Thames Valley
Welcome to the CIPD Branch in Thames Valley. We’re fully committed to the CIPD purpose of championing better work and working lives, and to supporting members at every stage of their career. Through our events and activities, we create opportunities to learn, connect and share practical insight with other people professionals across the region. Our programme includes a mix of daytime and evening events delivered by the branch, supported by dedicated area leads across the patch. We also host an active Independent Consultants Group, for members working independently or considering making the move.
We’re always keen to hear what you’d like from your local branch: topics, speakers, formats and ideas are all welcome. We rely on member feedback to shape what we do, so please feel free to get in touch.
We look forward to welcoming you to an upcoming event.

There are lots of ways to get involved with the CIPD Branch in Thames Valley, whether you’re looking to learn something new, meet other people professionals locally or support the branch behind the scenes.
Come along to an event
The simplest way to get involved is to attend one of our events. We run a mix of sessions across the year, designed to support your CPD, keep you up to date with what’s happening in the profession, and give you a chance to connect with others in the Thames Valley community.
Support us as a friend of the committee
If you’d like to be a little closer to what we do, you can support the branch as a friend of the committee. This is a flexible way to get involved, for example by helping on the day at an event, welcoming attendees, supporting sign-in, or sharing feedback and ideas. It’s a great option if you’d like to contribute occasionally, meet the volunteer team and build your network without taking on an ongoing role.
Join the committee
If you’re interested in playing a more active part, we welcome new committee members in both dedicated and supporting roles. Committee volunteers help shape our programme, lead on events and initiatives, and keep the branch connected to what members want and need. We meet once a month online, and roles can be shaped around your interests, experience, and available time.
If any of these options sound of interest or if you’d like a quick, informal chat about what might suit you, please get in touch.
With workshops, round tables, panel discussions and expert speakers, our thought-provoking events cover everything our community needs. Network, learn and stay up to date.

Join our CIPD Student Series to discover the tools, resources and support, with sessions running every month to help you succeed in your studies and your future career.
Alongside these national sessions, your local CIPD branch offers opportunities to connect with experienced people professionals, attend local events and build your network as you develop in the profession.
The CIPD member to member mentoring programme connects People Professionals to help you develop your skills, learn from one another and progress within your career.
Whether you are looking for a mentor, want to share your expertise as a mentor or perhaps both, it has never been easier with our online platform.

Email usOur branch brings people professionals together through a year-round programme of learning and networking. Events are delivered across the region by the Thames Valley volunteer team, supported by dedicated area leads, and are designed to be practical, relevant, and welcoming - whether you’re early in your career, established in role, or exploring your next step.
Alongside our main branch programme, we also offer a dedicated group for members working independently:
The Independent Consultants Group supports CIPD members who work as independent consultants and freelancers - or who are considering making the move. It’s a supportive forum to connect with peers, share ideas and learn from each other, whatever stage you’re at.
We run several sessions each year focused on topics that help you start, grow, and strengthen your practice. Our events combine networking with either an expert speaker or structured knowledge-sharing with group members, and they’re designed to be practical, encouraging and grounded in real experience.
