Technology is pervasive in the modern workplace and much has been written about the future of work as new technologies emerge. People professionals need to be aware of the range of technologies and how to use them responsibly to enhance their people practice. This factsheet provides basic information linked to the technology and people core standard in the CIPD Profession Map.

In this factsheet, we describe common technology terms and HR technologies. We then explore how artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies are changing jobs, provide guiding principles for choosing and using technology and look at the role of people professionals in digital transformation.
