Whether you’re a new CIPD member or a non-member exploring our site, create a website account here.

Important: Please avoid registering multiple website accounts, as this can cause access issues.

When registering, you’ll need to confirm whether you’re a CIPD member or non-member.

For CIPD Members creating a membership website account, you'll need the following details:

• Membership number,
• Date of birth,
• Country,
• and UK postcode (if applicable).

View our privacy policy and terms and conditions.

CIPD members get access to exclusive content and resources. If you’re not logged in as a member, you’ll see a message asking you to log in.

How to log in:

• Click the ‘login here’ link displayed at the bottom of the prompt.
• Or use the Login/Register option at the top right of the website or in the menu on smaller screens.

Still can’t access content?

You may be:

• Logged in with a guest account instead of your membership account. Try another email linked to your membership.
• Or your membership may be suspended or cancelled due to unpaid fees.

Sorry you’re having trouble accessing your CIPD website account. Try the checks below to help you get logged in.

Check you’re using the right email address

Your account may be linked to either your work or personal email address.

If you’re unsure or no longer have access to the email you originally registered with, please contact us and we can help update your details.

Reset your password

If you’ve forgotten your password:

• Click ‘Forgotten password?’ on the login screen.
• Follow the instructions to request a reset link.
• Didn’t receive the email? Try requesting it again using a different email address you may have used for your CIPD account.

If you don’t receive the password reset email, try resetting your password with a different email address that could be associated with your CIPD membership account.

Keeping your details up to date ensures you continue to receive CIPD updates and People Management magazine or Work. magazine if you’re a Chartered Fellow.

Log in to your My Profile, and under ‘My details’ you can view and update your:

• Title
• Preferred name
• Password
• Home and work address
• Personal and work email phone number
• Personal and work email address
• Set up your preferred email and postal address you'd like us to use.

Make sure to save any changes you make. It can take up to 5 minutes for your details to update on your website account. 

Name changes

For security reasons, you cannot change your first or last name online.

To update your name, please contact us. You’ll be asked security questions to confirm your identity.

There are many opportunities to network with peers on the CIPD website. If you want to take advantage of sharing your expertise and connecting with similar professionals or students online, you can create a personalised online public profile or biography.

Go to 'My biography' on your My Profile page to set this up.

There are currently two areas where your profile is used:

• The CIPD Community - an online discussion forum for CIPD members. When you participate in a discussion, other members can click on your name to read your biography or see your photo if you have submitted one.
• Branch Contact Us pages - Branch committee members can be included on the individual branch websites. Anyone accessing the site (including non-members) will be able to contact you using this page.

Please note that we take your privacy very seriously and don’t allow others to see your contact details, including your email address. Instead, we’ve developed an online form that allows people to email you if they wish, but your actual email address is hidden.

You don't need to include your email address in your biography, just make sure the correct one is in the 'my details' page and is marked as your preferred email address.

At the CIPD, we’re committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains your rights, how we collect your data, and why we use it.

Log in to your My Profile.

Under ‘My details’ you can:

• Update your details: home/work address, phone numbers, and email addresses.
• Choose your preferred contact method for communications (including printed magazines if opted in).

Under ‘My communication preferences’ you can:

• Set your communication channels: opt in or out of email, SMS, post, or phone.
• Manage mailings: newsletters, local branch updates, and printed member magazines - or unsubscribe from all marketing communications.

Your interests

We'd love to send you updates from time to time on the things that matter to you. We can tailor content that meets your needs if you let us know the products, services and topics that are of interest to you.

Remember to save your changes. Updates may take up to 5 minutes to appear.

If you’re having trouble receiving our communications, here are a few quick checks to help:

1. Check your email inbox

   • Check your spam/junk folder if you’re expecting an email.

   • If you find us there, mark the email as “not junk” to ensure future messages arrive in your inbox.

2. Review your details and preferences - log in to My Profile and confirm:

Under ‘my details’:

• Your contact details are correct
• Your preferred phone, postal, and email addresses are set

Under ‘my communication preferences’

• You’re opted in for the communication or magazine you’re missing (some are member only)

Remember to save any changes. Updates may take up to 5 minutes to show on your account.
