Wuraola describes her experience of using qualifications to enter the people profession
Having worked in the National Health Service (NHS) within Medical HR, the intricacies involved in managing a multidimensional workforce fuelled my interest for pursuing a career in HR. I enjoy developing strategic success through practical and effective people management.
My decision to complete a qualification was for my own self-development, but my passion for people management and employment law made studying the CIPD level 5* qualification a natural progression. It was also an excellent way of benching my skills and knowledge and put me in a better position for future HR roles.
I found juggling studying and work challenging, however a positive challenge as I was able to use the experience and knowledge gained from my job in my studies and vice versa.
My confidence at work is at its peak and the qualification has helped my career tremendously. I now have the knowledge to help me progress into more senior roles. Having the completed qualification means that my skills are recognized in the HR sector. Having access to CIPD resources through my membership allows me to continue learning and developing.
Studying a qualification is an excellent decision, there are several modes of studying which means it can be easily adapted into your personal and work life.
* This is a pre-2021 CIPD qualification.
