Welcome to our branch

Welcome to the CIPD Branch in Lancashire - a community bringing together people and L&D professionals to connect, collaborate and shape the future of work across our region.

Our ambition is to be more than a network. We are building a platform where people professionals can share insight, influence practice and respond to the rapidly evolving world of work. As the profession continues to shift from operational support to strategic leadership, our branch is focused on helping members develop the capability, confidence and impact needed to lead that change.

We align closely with CIPD priorities; supporting the development of future-fit skills, championing inclusion and wellbeing, and helping organisations navigate digital and AI-driven transformation. We create opportunities for members to explore the big issues shaping our profession today, from workforce planning and skills development to organisational culture, employee experience and responsible business practices.

Our events are designed to go beyond discussion. They provide practical, evidence-based insight and a space for open, honest conversations - helping our members stay ahead of change and apply learning in their organisations. We also work in partnership with employers, professional bodies and policymakers to ensure the voice of people professionals in Lancashire contributes to wider regional and national debates.

With nearly two decades’ experience as a people professional, my focus has been on learning, development and talent - supporting individuals and organisations to build the skills and capabilities needed for long-term success. I’m particularly interested in how we develop future-ready workforces, nurture talent pipelines and create meaningful learning experiences that drive both performance and engagement.

Whether you’re looking to develop your practice, expand your network or play a role in shaping better work and working lives, we’d love you to get involved. Sign up to our newsletter, join an event, or reach out to connect.

I look forward to welcoming you to a Lancashire Branch event soon.

Jo Sutcliffe, FCIPD

Our branch is run by a committee of Lancashire-based CIPD members. Sometimes we look for more volunteers to join the committee to continue to take the branch forward, raise our profile and help deliver a diverse range of events for our members. If you're interested in finding out more, the best place to start is by coming along to one of our events where you can speak with one of our committee members. There will either be opportunities available immediately, or we may contact you when a role becomes available that matches your skills.

You are welcome to contact the branch with your suggestions, ideas for events or networks and topics you would like to see us cover or to contribute your time and expertise by speaking at a branch event.
